Hi, my name is Syed and I'm a Registered Chiropodist (Foot Specialist) in the Greater Toronto Area.  I've received extensive training in lower limb biomechanics, dermatology, infectious diseases, diabetic wound care and soft tissue surgical procedures. I have clinical experience in working at community health centers, hospital settings and private practices. As a foot specialist, my aim is to assess, identify and treat foot disorders and diseases in adult and paediatric population.

COMMON FOOT PROBLEMS

 PLANTAR FASCIITIS 

Most common cause of heel or arch pain. Hurts in the morning or after activity. 

 BUNIONS 

Bony bump on the side of big or small toe joint.  Sometimes painful. Worse in tight footwear.

 METATARSALGIA 

Pain and swelling in the ball of feet, often after activity. Worst when bare feet.

 ACHILLES TENDONITIS 

Pain and swelling in the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the back of the heel bone

 HAMMER TOES 

Abnormal bends in the small toe joints, usually followed by arthritis and pain.

 CORNS & CALLUSES 

Thick, hard skin on areas of pressure and rubbing. Can be painful or asymptomatic.

 PLANTAR WARTS 

A growth on foot caused by a contagious viral infection. Can be individual or multiple.

 INGROWN TOENAILS 

Pain and swelling when the corner of the toenail grows into the skin next to it. Can lead to infections.

 FUNGAL TOENAILS 

Infection of the toenails that makes them thick and yellow. Common in places like, pools

 DIABETIC FEET 

Diabetics have an increased risk of foot issues i.e., sensation loss, ulcers and infection

 NEUROMA 

Swollen nerve in-between toes that feels like a pebble to walk on. Often shooting pain.

 ATHLETE'S FOOT 

Itchy, peeling, burning skin in between toes and bottom of foot from a fungal infection.
